1 John 2
1 My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an ▼▼Counselor/ advocate: The Greek word parakletos means one called alongside to help, counsel, or protect; it is used of the Holy Spirit in Jn and in 1 Jn.
advocate b with the Father – Jesus Christ the Righteous One. 2He Himself is the ▼▼propitiation: The removal of divine wrath; Jesus' death is the means that turns God's wrath from the sinner.

3 This is how we are sure f that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands. g 4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” yet doesn't keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, h truly in him the love of God is perfected. ▼▼Or truly completed
